In the course of providing our clients with income tax, estate tax, and gift tax advice, we receive financial information from our clients. If you are a client of Fisher Law Office,  you should know that your information is confidential except as agreed to by you, or as required under an applicable law.

We retain records relating to professional services that we provide so that we are better able to assist you with your professional needs and, in some cases, to comply with professional guidelines.  In order to guard your nonpublic personal information, we maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with our professional standards. 

The State of  Michigan has adopted protections for social security numbers in certain circumstancecs, but in any event we have a policy to treat such information with the same privacy and confidentiality as client information.  That policy has appropriate internal and external sanctions.

About Our Files

Our files are the property of the Fisher Law Office.  It is our practice not to keep executed documents in our files.  It is our policy not to retain client property in our files or in our office at all, and especially after conclusion of a client matter. Our files are periodically retired to off-site storage with limited availability, and after a period of time all of our files are destroyed. If you have any concerns about our files, please discuss them with us during or promptly after the conclusion of the matter. 

For Client Protection

We have made arrangements with other attorneys we respect to handle our cases for us in the event of our absence or other unavailability.  We know that you, as we, will take comfort in the fact that these arrangements have been made.
